Garlock’s GYLON® BIO-PRO PLUS™ gasket maintains its structural integrity throughout thermal cycles as well as exposure to any type of material. The gasket boasts best-in-class cold flow resistance under mechanical process stresses and equipment vibration. It also maintains its form and seal integrity throughout its use, requiring no retightening of pipeline clamps. Easy to install, the BIO-PRO PLUS™ creates a non-additive leak-proof seal. Unlike many other gaskets, it stays flexible and resilient, so it is simple to remove and leaves behind no residue, particles or other potential contaminants.
INTRUSION
Cleanliness is of paramount importance in sanitary processing, and many gasket designs unintentionally inhibit media flow and provide safe haven for bacteria. The GYLON® BIO-PRO PLUS™, on the other hand, is pre-molded to properly align and precisely fit into all tri-clamp joints.
The new BIO-PRO® pre-compressed material achieves superior leak prevention because the gasket remains contact with interior flanges even when vibration, cavitation or other stresses cause the pipe or components to shift. The gasket’s smooth, lipless texture eliminates dead space where microbes can accumulate and will not intrude into the pipeline, so bacteria and process ingredients cannot “latch on” and contaminate future batches.
CLEANLINESS
In addition to eliminating the ingredient trap that plagues many gasket designs, the BIO-PRO PLUS™ is amenable to the intense cleaning and sanitizing measures inherent in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Repeated clean-in-place and steam-in-place cycles using super-heated steam, caustic chemicals, and harsh detergents do not cause the BIO-PRO® to deteriorate, making it the gasket of choice for food, beverage, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical applications.
